Review
“It has been well over a decade since we last saw it, but the Norco Shore is finally back, and it is bigger and more terrifying than ever before. Wedging its way into the Norco full suspension lineup between the 160mm travel Range (enduro) and the 200mm travel Aurum (DH).”
Flow Mountain Bike
The Norco Shore A1 Mountain bike is the top of the range model for this reinvigorated free ride beast. The Shore is back in a big way with the 2021 model, built to handle the modern rider who takes on bigger jumps as well as rougher and longer descents, for a ride that is built for the extreme. Norco wanted the Shore to be a bike that inspires with a high-quality suspension rig and design so that you can freeride flat out
It all starts with the hydroformed alloy frame with 180mm rear travel thanks to the Fox Factory DHX2 Rear Shock, Paired with the equally brilliant Fox Factory 38 Fork also with 180mm Travel. The Shore is built around Norco’s Ride Aligned design system which matches each individual bike to the rider, creating a customised Freeride platform that is both stable and balanced. Using individual rider metrics, precise suspension kinematics, and proprietary app technology, you’ll align with your bike like never before. One of the highlights is the idler pulley which is integrated into an elevated pivot Horst Link suspension design, so that a rearward axle path can be achieved with minimal pedal kickback, and the precision coil-specific suspension kinematics ensure grip and support to boost jumps and shrug off deep landings on troublesome trails.
The spec matches the high quality design from top to bottom. Equipped with a 1×12 speed SRAM GX Eagle Drivetrain for a simple, yet reliable and wide range of gears. Matched with powerful SRAM Code RSC Hydraulic Disc Brakes for all the downhill stopping power you might need on the gnarliest of drops. The Shore rolls on Maxxis Assegai 2.5″ Tubeless Ready tyres with the ideal combination of speed and traction to make the most of every ride. It wouldn’t be ready to without the TranzX Dropper Post so that you can get out of the seat and really let it rip. At the end of the day, the Norco Shore is a sick freeride style bike, bringing back old school style with modern boldness and design for an absolutely unreal riding experience. RIDE ALIGNED
The Shore uses Norco’s Ride Aligned design system, matching each individual bike to the rider, creating a customised Freeride platform that is both stable and balanced, allowing you to push harder. Using individual rider metrics, precise suspension kinematics, and proprietary app technology, you’ll perfectly align with your ride experience.
IDLER PULLEY
By integrating an idler pulley into an elevated pivot Horst Link suspension design, a rearward axle path can be achieved with minimal pedal kickback, and the precision coil-specific suspension kinematics ensure grip and support to boost jumps and shrug off deep landings on rough trails.
DYNAMIC PEDALLING
Suspension design and rider compartment are designed to get the bike moving quickly on run-ins and rollers. Maximized pedal efficiency gets you to the top faster and conserves energy for the descent you’ve planned your whole ride around.
